Gain Agility for your next PeopleSoft Project with Oracle Cloud

A large Higher Education client was unable to deploy Guided Self Service for Position Management due to being on a lower version of PeopleTools. Position Management, Guided Self Services and Reporting was critical for the organization to enable funding and decision making.

The organization launched a PeopleTools Upgrade, however, to start the Guided Self Service project after the upgrade has been completed would compromise their timing and business benefit realization of Position Management and Guided Self Service.

The organization decided to spin up a PeopleSoft instance in the Oracle cloud and to do all Guided Self Service work in the PeopleSoft Cloud DEV instance. All design, configuration and testing was done in the Oracle Cloud hosted instance and the final round of testing was done in the recently upgraded on-premise instance.

The benefit of this approach was early realization of business benefits (6 months) through Guided Self Service by launching the two projects in parallel.

The hosting cost of the Oracle Cloud instance was less than $10,000 for 12 months. Again, this represented significant cost and time savings compared to on-premise acquisition of servers and databases etc.
